I am currently trying to make money from this site called Varolo.com. Its a site where you sit and watch ads and you earn money. I thought it would be a good idea to try out, i mean the worst that could happen is me make a few extra bucks in my spare time when I'm not doing anything else. Anyway, to make loads of money you need to create a network of people called a "village" like the pyramid type money making things you have heard about. Anyway, they pay right to you Paypal account when you make your first $20 bucks. So, I wanna know if this really works. If you have a paypal account and feel like trying to make a few extra bucks then join my village and we can start earning together. If you wanna try it out then join by going to this URL: www.varolo.com/villages/TopAdWatchers
Just go there and join and see if you like it. The more people who join, the more money we make.

New Post, New Card
It seems like the last time I posted, which was a long long long time ago, I was talking about video cards. Well here we are again. I recently, and by recently I mean this summer, updated my video card once more. Twice actually. First I started out with the EVGA GTX 275. It was an awesome card with awesome power. After having that, and having a good job, I decided to upgrade once more. This time I chose to purchase the EVGA GTX 470. This is a newer card and has slightly better specs than my last one. Although I probably did not need to get a new one, I just had to have it. It has been awesome so far and is just filled with RAW power. I'm lovin' life. Well until my next blog, which will be much sooner this time since I am trying to get this thing going. Byeeeeee (Hear this in the voice of Stu from the Hangover).

Freezing Problem?
So for about 2-3 weeks I had this infinite freezing problem. I would leave my comp over night only to wake up to it frozen. At first I just thought it was a driver issue somewhere inside of my hardware specs so I looked around and updated all of the drivers that I had. I noticed that my video card driver was out of date so I updated it. That night there was no freezing. After the second night though, I woke up and bam, frozen again. I was completely clueless. After trying everything I knew, and checked out the many different solutions posted on Google. I decided to drop my old card back in. I was using a GeForce 7900 when the freezing was going on. I had a card that I used before, an ATI Radeon something or another, so I threw it back in and sure enough the freezing was gone. Now I can leave my computer on all day and night and don't have to worry about freezing or any other issues. Whew. Someday I'll stop running into different problems, but until then I will keep learning from them. Until my next issue :)

Am I a n00b?
So... I had been planning to upgrade the hard drives in my computer for some time now. I had decided on getting the Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB drive. I headed to Fry's with a few of my friends and made the purchase. I was super pumped to get back to my apartment and swap that sucker in for the 3 80gb drives I had clogging up space in my drive rack. After putting the drive in I booted up and went to check the disk. I clicked around, refreshed the page, and did everything else I could think of to see it... still nothing. I ran some searches through Google but came up empty on why my drive was not working. So, I called Fry's and ran back in there the next day. When I get there I go to the customer service rep and tell them that my drive isn't working... naturally he connects it to their computer and tells me that it does indeed work. I asked him what he did and he told me that he had to enable it. He asked if I knew anything about computers, which made me feel inferior, then asked me if I knew anything about the disk utilities. I answered of course while feeling like an idiot. Needless to say I made a trip to Fry's for nothing, and went back home to enable the disk and begin to move files. Now I have all my music and videos on one hard drive for easy transfer. So for all of you who can't get your raw disk to work straight out of the box and never new why and may have RMA'd it... here you go. I guess you learn something new everyday, or at least on some days.

Overclocking Success
So I have been wanting to overclock my PC for a while now, but I was waiting until the processor had some time to run and get "broke in" i guess. So today I hit the forums... Tom's hardware, EVGA, overclocking, and even the infamous YouTube. After reading about all the success stories of people overclocking their machines to 4.0gHz with the board and processor that I have, I was very excited and wanted to get started right away. Having never overclocked a machine, I was a little worried at first. So I booted into the BIOS and started playing around with some settings and having no such luck. I then proceeded to hit the researching again where I found a video on the tube of a guy with a similar build to mine. I watched the video and took notes on the settings that he had and then went back to my BIOS. I changed some of the settings but left the Memory clock at the default setting and changed my FSB to 1500 and instantly my computer went from 2.86 to 3.18. I have my computer in front of my window and the window cracked. The cold air is soaking right into the computer and making my cooling awesome. I am running at 29 degrees Celsius and am loving it. With these temps I may even try to go higher in the weeks to come. After running Prime95 and passing all of the stress tests I am proud to say that I have successfully overclocked my first PC.

My Sweet New Build
So after saving up all the money I could, I did some researching and broke down to build a new computer. I decided to deck it out as much as I could with the money I had. I took a trip to the local Frys Electronics store to do some looking. Seeing all the sweet new gadgets made me want to buy them. I told myself that I would only buy a case while I'm here and buy the rest of the stuff online. Sure enough after looking at RAM, Motherboards, and processors I was sure what I wanted. So I left with a Cooler Master Sniper case, EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI motherboard, and 6gb of Corsair RAM for around 400 bucks total. I went back to my apartment and hopped right onto Newegg and bought my velociraptor hard drive and Intel q9550 quad core processor. Although it seems like I got it all, I'm still missing my SLI video cards that I want and am saving up for. Here are the specs as of right now:
CoolerMaster Sniper Full ATX Case
EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard
6gb Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1333
300gb Velociraptor Hard Drive @ 10,000 RPM
80gb Western Digital SATA Hard Drive
Intel q9550 quad core 2.86gHz oc'd 3.0gHz
Nvidia GeForce 9500gt
Windows 7 Enterprise
Keep tuned to see when I update it and also to hear about my ridiculous problem getting it built.
